Maxon TOD9 True Tube Overdrive Pedal
This is a terrific pedal, it sounds seriously superb. Maxon designed and made the original Tube Screamer, so they've got a great heritage in this genre. Here we have a regular solid state overdrive circuit, preceded by a genuine tube stage, using a NOS subminiature tube. Internal doublers take the regular 9v supply right up to 30v per circuit for added clarity and headroom. The tone... oh boy, it's awesome. It's perfect for an 'always on' signal warmer to add a little natural tube compression and growl. It'll also do a big thick juicy overdrive brimming with harmonics just as happily. Very, very good indeed.
