Gretsch G5655T Electromatic Center Block Jr. Casino Gold 2020
Gretsch G5655T-QM, sweet tea, made in China 2022. Nice quilt top on this one! This is part of Gretsch's Centre Block series, so it's a bit of a departure from their standard Jet and Nashville models; it's a small size thinline semi-hollow. First up, it sounds good: I've not been sold on that many of the newer low-mid priced Gretsch offerings, but this genuinely pleasantly surprised me. It's warm and clear, balanced and tuneful with a great balance of body and chime. The body is small and comfy, not too far from a Les Paul in shape but super lightweight... that'll work. The gold looks nice too, it's very classy. Tonnes of guitar for not many clams, and super slick to boot.
