Fender American Standard Stratocaster Sunburst 2011
Fender American Standard Strat, sunburst, made in USA 2011. The American Standard series launched in 1987, corresponding with Fender's newly opened factory at Corona in California. This one dates to 2011, so it gets a super quick neck and a very handy set of Fat 50s pickups, wound at the Custom Shop. They're great pickups: hefty low end kick, creamy mids, sweet and defined highs; they only had these pickups on deck for a year or two before the bottom line called time on the experiment. Our local ninja luthier Paul Mineur installed a set of tall stainless frets, so this is playing extremely smoothly up and down the whole neck and should last basically indefinitely. This has the understated classic look, but it's a monster guitar.
