Squier Paranormal Cyclone Shell Pink 2020
Squier Cyclone, made in China 2020, Shell Pink. The Cyclone was a limited run Squier model that has popped up here and there a few times. They did very well in Japan especially, although it wasn't a Japan exclusive thing. This one dates to 2020 and was blessed with the ever-cool Shell Pink finish, so it's a very cute item indeed. The neck is nice: slim 40mm nut like a Mustang, Gibson-style 24.75" scale (unusual!) and carved to a comfy moderate U shape. The three pickups each get a Jag-style slider switch, so you can get lots of different sounds from them. All the sounds are good, save the all-3-on option; if they're all on they seem to fight each other. The tone is crisp and clear with a defined attack, and a little different to any other Fender model while also sounding very much like part of the family. All up: this Cyclone is definitely our favourite natural disaster manufactured in a Chinese facility in 2020.
