Greco Mint Collection FB-60, sunburst, made in Japan 1989. Greco's Mint Collection series was made in the late 80s are widely regarded to be some of the most accurate and beautifully made G-style guitars ever made out of Japan. The LP style guitars are reasonably common, but the Firebird style models... well, go find another one for sale anywhere in the world, I'll wait here. Oh look, you're back, nice. This is an FB1 style model: single pickup with the excellent set neck build. It's got standard mini tuners rather than the banjo style jobs, which suits me fine honestly, as well as cool Junior-style wraparound bridge; it feels super responsive and holds tune convincingly. The neck feels fantastic: it's a slim 60s style shape, although it's a little more generous in the carve than some other FB style guitars we've had through; it's super comfy and nicely balanced. The original mini humbucker has been replaced with a full sized Gibson Classic '57: interesting mod, but it sounds terrific. There's attack aplenty, with a pounding fundamental note coming thick and fast, paired with a gorgeous growling complex midrange and an expansive, eloquent treble. Into a cranked tube amp, this is glorious. This is the first example of this model we've ever had, and might be the last we score for a while; you've probably got one shot. But, you only need one, right?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a dent and some dimples on the end, dimples on both edges, a small chip on the back on the pointed corner and some scuffs on the edge on the end and some light scuffs around the posts on the front. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, just a couple of dents on the back behind the first and tenth frets and some play wear and dimples on the back. The back has dimples on both horns, scuffs in the middle of the body, and some dimples in the elbow area near the edge and around the control cavity. The sides have scuffs and a couple of dents, scuffs in the elbow area, a couple of small chips and some scuffs along  the back edge, dimples near the knobs and some scuffs and dimples on the bottom horn. The front has scuffs around the pickup, dimples around the bridge, dimples and scuffs in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
