Fender PB70-70US Precision, vintage white, crafted in Japan 1997-00. It's a classic, surely. The 1970 P Bass got some big bold black logos, a black guard and a slightly slimmer neck, with a 40mm nut instead of the usual 42mm. It feels great in the hands: lightweight and resonant in the body and fast and responsive in the neck. This example dates to the late 90s, so the white finish has further yellowed and mellowed and collected a few dents and marks, so now it looks suitably punk. The pickup was swapped out for a Dimarzio Model P, which sounds great: fast fat lows, growly mids and a nice understated snappiness on the top end. These compete very well with all but the fanciest USA models, and they seldom hang around long on the wall here. P=psuper.
