Fender ST57-58US Strat, heavily yellowed sonic blue, crafted in Japan 1999-02. "Looks more like surf green to me"... that phrase has become somewhat of a joke around here, but I assure you: this was once blue, and it's faded and yellowed to this glorious swampy green. I'm not sure exactly the backstory of this guitar, but it's had plenty of play and likely seen plenty of the sun one way or another. Faded and yellowed sonic blue has more depth and variation to it than a freshly painted surf green, and paired with the glorious golden maple board and aged plastics, this thing looks unreal. The pickups are great too: it has a fat, plonky bass that hits quick with a juicy round fundamental, paired with a shimmering top end creamy, airy midrange. It's great for all that Jimi style stuff, it has a certain smoothness and eloquence to it. The neck isn't slim, being a fifties rounded D style shape, but it's not super chunky either, and it's been rubbed to a satin finish and feels super slick to slide around on. Strats that look this good don't generally sit around here for a long time, so hey: faff not, friend.
