Charvel Desolation DS-1, black sparkle, made in China 2012. A singelcut shaped Charvel.... wha? And yet, here it is. These slick little Snickers were made in the 2010s and deliver some shred cred to the LP-ish shape: 25.5" scale, easy access heel, big tall frets and mean styling. The blue binding and cream pickup surrounds make the black sparkle finish pop nicely, it's got a certain sci-fi swagger to it. The ever-reliable '59/JB set by Seymour delvier the goods too: this cleans up nicely, crunches up nicely, and holds it's own convincingly with I-need-therapy levels of distortion too. Heaps of fun, and a little different.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and front near the 5th string post and some scuffs on the sides. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has some scuffs in the middle of the body, near the neck join, elbow area and along the back edge, as well as some dimples around the control cavity. The sides have dimples on both horns, some dents and scuffs in the elbow area and some scuffs near the jack. The front has a chip and some dimples in the elbow area, scuffs around the knobs and back edge and some play wear on the horns and around the pickups.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 12/62 strings and tuned to drop C.
Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
