Fender F-65 Dreadnought Acoustic 1973
Fender F-65 dreadnought, made in Japan 1973, natural gloss. I tend to think of Fender's adventures in making guitars in Japan kicking off with their electric models in 1982, but they actually made a stack of acoustics in Japan in the 70s. This is a cool old thing: simple D-28 style dreadnought, with a couple of cool aesthetic touches: tort truss cover, snowflake inlays, cute pearl binding and a very pretty rosewood back with a mirrored angle in the grain. It sounds big: thick and rolling down low, with plenty of bite and snap up top. This is a cool piece from a bygone era, it's a friendly old soul to have around.
